Top NoSQL Key Value Cache Databases: NoSQL databases are used in Bigdata to process large volume of information. NoSQL databases are also known as Not only SQL as may also support SQL like query languages. Any database that is modeled in means other than the tabular relations used in relational databases are called No SQL database.

NoSQL database can be classified as Key Value Cache, Key Value Store, Key Value Store Eventually Consistent, Key Value Store Ordered, Data Structures server, Tuple Store, Object Database, Document Store, and Wide Columnar Store.

Coherence, GigaSpaces, Couchbase, Hazelcast, Infinispan, JBoss Cache, eXtreme Scale, GemFire, Memcached, Terracotta, Velocity, Repcached are some of the top NoSQL Key Value Cache Databases in no particular order.

1. Coherence

Oracle Coherence is a proprietary Java based in memory data grid designed to improve reliability, scalability and performance compared to traditional relational database management systems.

Couchbase Server is an open source, distributed, shared nothing architecture, NoSQL document-oriented database. These applications service many concurrent users; creating, storing, retrieving, aggregating, manipulating and presenting data. In support of these kinds of application needs, Couchbase is designed to provide easy-to-scale key-value or document access with low latency and high sustained throughput.

3.IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale

IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale is the IBM in memory datagrid product. It can be described as a fully elastic memory based storage grid. It virtualized the free memory of a potentially large number of Java virtual machines and makes them behave like a single key addressable storage pool for application state.

4.GigaSpaces eXtreme Application Platform (XAP)

GigaSpaces eXtreme Application Platform (XAP), is an in memory computing software platform. It is a practical implementation of Space-based architecture (SBA) that partitions applications into self-sufficient processing units. GigaSpaces XAP is a memory based, and Memory virtualization technology at its core, providing data storage and computation within a single process, without inter-process communication or file-system access.

Hazelcast is an in-memory Open Source data grid based on Java. By having multiple nodes form a cluster, data is evenly distributed among the nodes. This allows for horizontal scalability both in terms of available storage space and processing power.

Infinispan is a distributed cache and key value NoSQL data store software developed by Red Hat. Java applications can embed it as library, use it as a service in WildFly or any non-java applications can use it as remote service through TCP/IP.

Memcached is a general purpose distributed memory caching system. It is often used to speed up dynamic database driven websites by caching data and objects in RAM to reduce the number of times an external data source such as a database or API.

Ehcache is a widely used open source Java distributed cache for general purpose caching,  Java EE and light weight containers. It features memory and disk stores, replicate by copy and invalidate, listeners, cache loaders, cache extensions, cache exception handlers, a gzip caching servlet filter, RESTful and SOAP APIs.

Velocity was the code name for a distributed key-value cache platform for in-memory caches spread across multiple systems, developed by Microsoft. It is now incorporated as the caching element of Microsoft's AppFabric.

10.Pivotal GemFire

Pivotal GemFire is a distributed data management platform. Pivotal GemFire is designed for many diverse data management situations, but is especially useful for high volume, latency sensitive, mission critical, transactional systems.

11. JBoss Cache

JBoss Cache is a replicated cache, state is always kept in sync with other servers in the cluster. This makes any state stored in JBoss Cache resilient to server crashes or restarts, achieving high availability.

Repcached is a redundancy memcached system. It is a patch set which adds data replication feature to memcached 1.2.x
